"The 2009 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard is one of the more reticent 2009 Chardonnays from Chateau St Jean. Despite full malolactic fermentation, it remains a cool, inward wine built on a solid core of minerality. Lemon, white flowers and almonds are layered into the bright , intense finish. The Durell spent 14 months in French oak barrels, 60% new. This is an impressive showing from one of Sonoma's top sites. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024."

Enticing notes of guava and crème brûlee give way to creamy vanilla and buttered toast on the nose. Medium bodied and well structured layers of vanilla bean and creamy buttery notes. A customer favorite and a true Sonoma classic.
