Made from true Pinot Blanc plantings grown on the famous Robert Young Vineyard located in the north-central Alexander Valley, a combination of barrel fermentation and tank fermentation was employed to retain the fresh fruit character of this wine. The wine underwent 9 months of sur lie aging in small 100% French oak barrels to impart richness and complexity. Half of this Pinot Blanc underwent malolactic fermentation. Classic Alexander Valley aromas of rich, ripe pear, melon, grapefruit and yellow apples with hazelnut and vanilla oak notes fill the nose of this Pinot Blanc. On the palate, this wine begins with a rich entry loaded with flavors of nectarine, peaches, apples and citrus that surround creamy vanilla oak notes throughout a long viscous finish. Pure delight.
