This medium bodied Chardonnay is styled to represent the best of Sonoma County. We select the grapes from the critically acclaimed Robert Young Vineyard, Belle Terre Vineyard, Durell Vineyard, and Cold Creek Ranch to craft this blend, which combines classic Alexander Valley and Carneros Chardonnay aromas. Rich and creamy with flavors of honeysuckle, peaches, citrus, toasted almond and vanilla oak flavors, leading to an exceptionally long finish. This is the Chardonnay we proudly describe every year as "Crème brûlée in a glass!"

"The 2009 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard is one of the more reticent 2009 Chardonnays from Chateau St Jean. Despite full malolactic fermentation, it remains a cool, inward wine built on a solid core of minerality. Lemon, white flowers and almonds are layered into the bright , intense finish. The Durell spent 14 months in French oak barrels, 60% new. This is an impressive showing from one of Sonoma's top sites. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024."

<PRE>2010 Chateau St Jean Pinot Blanc Robert Young Vineyard Alexander Valley</PRE>

Sourced from the famous Robert Young Vineyard in Alexander Valley, this rich Pinot Blanc underwent a combination of barrel fermentation and tank fermentation to retain the fresh fruit character of this lovely varietal. It then spent 9 months of sur lie aging in small 100% French oak barrels to impart richness and complexity, with half of that undergoing malolactic fermentation. Classic Alexander Valley aromas of rich, ripe pear, melon, grapefruit and yellow apples with hazelnut and vanilla oak notes fill the nose. On the palate, this wine begins with a rich entry loaded with flavors of nectarine, peaches, apples and citrus that surround creamy vanilla oak notes throughout a long viscous finish. Staff Favorite!!

This popular medium-bodied Chardonnay opens with pleasing stone fruit, vanilla and floral spice aromas.
