Sonoma County is paradise for wine grapes. Within Sonoma County's coastal landscape of small valleys, benchlands and hillsides are nearly a dozen prime growing regions, each with its own combination of sun, soil and climate influences. The range of growing conditions, from cool, foggy Carneros and Russian River Valley to warm, but wind-tempered Alexander Valley, means a grape variety planted in two, three or even four regions will produce flavorful, balanced grapes with distinctive regional personalities. This diversity provides our winemakers a unique palette with which to achieve rich, varietal character.

Our Sonoma County wines draw on the full range of Chateau St. Jean's vineyard resources. Handcrafted using time-honored techniques, including barrel-fermentation and aging in small oak barrels, these elegant wines display generous fruit and true complexity.

Our Sonoma County Reserve wines represent the best of Sonoma County character. Produced from Chateau St. Jean's finest vineyards, aged slowly in 100% French oak barrels and given additional time in the bottle prior to release, these dramatic limited-release wines are benchmark achievements.
