Vintage 2015
Wine Type White
Varietal Chardonnay
Region Sonoma County
Winemaker Margo Van Staaveren

The Cold Creek Ranch experiences maritime influences from the Pacific Ocean, which provide cool breezes and morning fog. As a result, the Chardonnay offers forward fruit flavors, lively acidity and hints of minerality.

Vineyard Note

Cold Creek Ranch Chardonnay is known for its bright, tropical fruit aromas of pineapple and citrus. The 2015 vintage is no exception with a bright bouquet of ripe tropical fruit; mango, pineapple and kiwi fruit. The core of minerality on the palate gives structure to the luscious lemon cream and ripe peach flavors on the juicy, rich palate. A core of lively acidity balances the richness through to the flavorful and long finish.

Winemaker's Note

The wine was barrel fermented and aged sur lie exclusively in small French oak barrels for nine months. Only 15% of the barrels used in this vintage were new, allowing for the bright, forward fruit character of the Chardonnay from the vineyard to hold a prominent position in the blend. The blend completed malolactic fermentation adding richness and depth in the texture.
